Finding my rhythm
I started the year gung-ho. Pumping out content, shipping things, riding the momentum of a fresh calendar.
This week has been quieter. Not stuck - reflecting. Figuring out what I actually want to share, and where.
The answer: variety. Tech posts, fitness updates, half-formed thoughts about learning things in public. Not everything fits neatly into “Tim writes about cybersecurity” or “Tim writes about productivity.”
The blog is for long-form content. Ideas that need space to breathe. The kind of writing I’d want to find if I was searching for it.
LinkedIn is different. I’m going to be honest here - LinkedIn content will be clickbaity. I’m trying to game the algorithm. The format rewards punchy openings and manufactured tension. That’s the game, so I’ll play it. But I’d rather be transparent about it than pretend I’m above it.
The blog stays authentic. LinkedIn drives eyeballs. Different tools, different purposes.
That’s the point of learning in public, I suppose. You find out what you’re actually thinking by trying to write it down.
More soon.
